The Business Development Corporation (BDC) is excited to announce the appointment of Carrie Kosac as President, effective immediately. Carrie, who holds an MBA from the University of Notre Dame, brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in commercial credit and operations to the role.
Carrie joins the BDC after nearly 20-years of industry experience most recently as the Director of Commercial Credit and Operations at Honor Credit Union. In this capacity, she demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic oversight, contributing significantly to the organization’s growth and success. Prior to her role at Honor Credit Union, Carrie was the Head of Treasury Services at 1st Source Bank, where she honed her expertise in financial management and client relations. Additionally, she played a vital role in managing the Small Business Administration (SBA) process in the local market, further showcasing her commitment to supporting small businesses.
The hiring of Carrie into this position is part of a planned transition plan from the organization’s current long-time President, Beth Wittling, as she works towards retirement. Under Beth’s leadership, the BDC has made significant strides in providing supplemental long-term, fixed-rate loans that facilitate the development and expansion of small businesses. Beth’s vision and commitment have been instrumental in helping local entrepreneurs navigate the complexities of financing. Beth will remain with the organization for a period of time working closely with Carrie and the rest of the staff to ensure a smooth transition.

She is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the organization including driving the organization’s mission of promoting economic and revitalization programs to assist in the retention, expansion or development of business concerns including start-ups in Indiana and Southwest Michigan. Carrie started her career as a staff accountant at a global manufacturing firm in Elkhart, Indiana before moving into commercial banking, working for financial institutions in Indiana and Michigan. Her career in commercial banking has primarily focused on helping small and medium-sized businesses, as well as economic development. Her extensive experience includes credit analysis, special asset management, SBA 7(a) lending, and Treasury Management. Carrie graduated from Davenport University with dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Business Management. She went on to earn her M.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in 2017. She has also supported multiple not for profit and community organizations including Leadership South Bend, Mishawaka and Community Investment Fund of Indiana. |
